BPL 2015: Teams, squads, schedule and fixtures: The 3rd edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) started off in an excellent fashion, as Rangpur Riders successfully chased down the target of 188 set by the Chittagong Vikings. What better way to start off a tournament which has been under the clouds of match fixing just after the second edition. And due to financial issues in the country, the 2014 edition had to be cancelled.
With some meticulous planning and execution, the tournament kicked off in a spectacular fashion this year. With the likes of Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan and Jacqueline Fernandez in the mix, the opening ceremony, which was worth $450,000, and was a great success and officially kicked off the proceedings of the BPL 3 on 20^th November.
The tournament will continue till December 15^th, the date on which the finals will be played. Before looking at the schedule for the tournament, here’s a look at some of the facts about the tournament.

Bangladesh Premier Leauge aka BPL is a Bangladesh Domestic Tournaments almost similar to Indian Premier League. This will be the 3rd Edition of Bangladesh Premier League. BPL T20 2015 will start from 22 November 2015. The BPL T20 league is launched again after a hiatus of 2 years. It consists of 6 franchisee teams namely DHAKA DYNAMITES, Chittagong Vikings, Barisal Bulls, RANGPUR Riders, SYLHET superstars and COMILLA Victorians. League will be quite competitive as in the past foreign and domestic players can play as a team. Domestic cricketers from Bangladesh can learn a lot from the internationals stars and improve their game by many notches. COMILLA is the new team which is the latest addition to BPLT20.

Player Auction
The player auction for the third edition of the tournament was held on 22^nd October Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka.
There were 6 categories within which the players were classified, which are:
1. Icon Players:
Each icon players were sold to the 6 franchises @ $70,000 each. The players were Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad and Nasir Hossain.
2. Franchise deals:
The players were privately contacted by the franchises and the deals were made within a fixed price. Chris Gayle, who fell under this category, was signed by Barisal Bulls for $300,000.
3. Category players:
The other 4 category players were named as Category 1, 2, C, and D. The prices were $70,000, $50,000, $40,000, $30,000 respectively.
